Stephen H. Downer, 94, of Fredericksburg, VA passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Mary Washington Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Flushing, NY on July 20, 1929 to the late Earnest Page and Helen Hills Downer of Marion, MA.

Stephen loved taking care of his many cats, raccoons, birds, and ground hogs. He enjoyed working on his pedestaled seat invention, his many computers, creating birthday cards, sending daily emails to family and friends, and listening to music. He also enjoyed attending the local Experimental Aircraft Association meetings.

Stephen is survived by his daughters, Susan Grigg (Chuck) and Amy Hall (Christopher); son Stephen Page Downer; grandchildren Melissa, Stephanie, Raphaelle, Jarad, Jordan, Johnathon, Nicolas, Matthew, and Michael; and great-grandchildren Morgan, Alex, Colin, and Clara. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jane C. Downer; and his grandson, Michael E. Bair.
