Nomination papers available soon for nine open seats in Marion

MARION – Gear up for local elections and primaries in Marion. 

Nomination papers for town elections will be available Thursday, Feb. 1 and due back by Monday, March 25. 

Seats open for election include the Board of Assessors, Board of Health, Select Board, Marion School Committee, Open Space Acquisition Commission, Planning Board, as well as the position of Town Meeting Moderator. 

Marion town elections will be held Friday, May 17.

The presidential primary will be held Tuesday, March 5, while the state primary is Tuesday, Sept. 3. The state and presidential election occur Tuesday, Nov. 5. 

Postcards are being mailed to registered voters providing the option of voting by mail for all state primaries and elections. These postcards cannot be forward to temporary addresses, so visit www.sec.state.ma.gov to request mail-in ballots. Those in the military or living overseas can email the town clerk’s office or go to www.fvap.gov to request a ballot.

The town clerk also asks that Marion residents return annual censuses and license their dogs.
