Natural History Museum goes out of this world

MARION — On Wednesday, March 13, the Marion Natural History Museum's afterschool group learned about planets, stars, galaxies and the universe with amateur astronomer Peter Marshall.

Marshall specializes in studying and taking photos of these rarely seen objects from his home in Rochester.

He also shared photos from NASA's spacecrafts Voyagers 1 and 2.

The students were then invited to create their own planets with the knowledge they learned.

Some planets had rings similar to Saturn, others had water bodies, and many had mountainous terrain.
