Marion crash leaves two hospitalized

MARION — Two people were hospitalized following a crash on Jan. 7 on Pleasant Street in which a sedan struck a pedestrian and broke through a small stone fence. 

One person was sent to Rhode Island Hospital and the other was sent to Tobey Hospital in Wareham. The severity of injuries related to the crash is unclear. 

The crash occurred south of Clark Street on Pleasant Street, where the car struck a pedestrian and crashed through the stone fence. The sedan wound up wedged between a telephone pole and a tree, with the front end of the car completely destroyed. The telephone pole was also damaged in the crash. 

Marion Police Chief Richard Nighelli said state police will work with the Marion Police Department to investigate the crash.
