Learn the geologic history of cranberry bogs

MARION — Cranberry bogs are a fall staple of New England, join USDA soil scientist Maggie Payne at the Marion Museum of Natural History on Wednesday, Nov. 15 for a talk exploring the geologic history of cranberry bogs.
There is no cost to attend the talk, which will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
“Take a journey though time from the glacial formations that contributed to the creation of the bogs to the present-day cranberry habitats,” wrote the museum in a press release. “Payne’s knowledge of soil composition, geological history, and current ground penetrating radar technology will provide a detailed narrative linking the natural world with human adaptation.”
