Feb 29, 2024

Jeffrey L Roehr - of Las Cruces, New Mexico (formerly of Houston, Texas) passed away on February 23, 2024 in Tucson, Arizona from complications following a medical procedure.

He was born in Bethlehem PA on October 26, 1959.

Jeff was raised in Massachusetts and attended Rivers Country Day School in Weston MA, Class of 1977.  He graduated from Lehigh University in 1981 with a degree in electric engineering.

Jeff leaves behind his mother, Ina Roehr of Marion, MA., his sister Kristina McDavid (Keith) of Marion, MA, his sister Susan Roehr of Matthews, NC and his nephews, Robert McDavid (Sarah) of Providence RI and Scott McDavid of Quincy, MA, along with a large and loving extended family. He was pre-deceased by his father, Louis J Roehr in 2019.

He led an accomplished life with various engineering firms and traveled worldwide for the companies he worked for.  Jeff loved to travel and was an avid photographer who captured in beautiful pictures the wonderful people he met and the beauty of the locations he visited, including, most recently, his beloved New Mexico mountains.

Jeff was an avid fisherman, sailor and boater and thoroughly enjoyed those times with his friends and nephews.  He loved music, laughter and friendship and was a real foodie, cooking up many dishes from different parts of the world.

Jeff enriched everyone's lives with his kindness and kept in touch with friends from all stages of his life as well as his many relatives.

Throughout his life he suffered medical setbacks, but always demonstrated courage and strength.  His motto was Carpe Diem as illustrated by a beautiful balloon trip in NM and a sky dive in addition to his many exotic travels.  He was a real adventurer.

A memorial service will be arranged by his family at a later date.

He was passionate about charities such as Wounded Warriors, Tunnels to Towers and National Wildlife Federation. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to honor Jeff’s memory and his love of the outdoors with a donation to his favorite charities.
