MATTAPOISETT — The Harvard Krokodiloes’ return to Old Rochester on Saturday, Feb. 4 turned out to be a family affair.

The Kroks, Harvard University’s oldest Acapella group, had a knowledgeable source to show them around the school and the Tri-Town, as member Eddie Gonet graduated from Old Rochester in 2022.

Gonet’s sister, Emerson, is currently the junior class president at Old Rochester. Ticket sales from the show helped benefit the class of 2025. When the Kroks took the stage on Saturday night, Emerson was brought on stage for a song.

One more member of the Gonet family found themselves on stage as well, as Gonet’s father was called out to receive a special rendition of “Happy Birthday” from the Kroks.

“This will always be home,” said Gonet. “I’ve done so many shows on that stage and it is so great to keep the music going here.”

The Kroks kept the audience entertained for the duration of the performance by combining singing and dancing with a number of jokes and comedy skits.

The group performed classic songs like “On the Sunny Side of the Street,” “Lover, Come Back to me” and “Bye Bye Love.”

The show included solos, quartets, and full group performances.

Gonet is currently serving as the tour manager for the Kroks. He traveled to 25 countries with the group in the summer of 2023 alone.

Gonet is responsible for planning shows and booking flights and hotels for the Kroks.

“It is incredible getting to see the world, meet new people and experience all sorts of cultures,” said Gonet.

Two of his favorite places he has traveled with the Kroks are Vietnam and South Africa, he said.

“You spend three months straight with these people,” said Gonet. “They become your best friends.”
