Dec 7, 2020

MATTAPOISETT — On the same day as the Old Rochester Regional School District announced the first two cases of covid-19 at Rochester Memorial School, it reported that four new cases were found in the district high school and two new cases in Center School.

In the high school, the positive cases have not been in the school building since Nov. 24, Dec. 1, Dec. 2, and Dec. 3. The individuals related to Center School have not been in the school building since Nov. 24.

The district didn’t disclose whether the individuals are student, faculty or staff members.

There have now been 38 reported cases of coronavirus in the district since classes began on Sept. 16.

All schools will continue with their normal schedules, and all buildings continue to be cleaned every day after school and as needed.

The district urges that any student who feels ill or shows symptoms of coronavirus should be kept home. Testing can be done either through a primary healthcare provider or at one of the testing sites located throughout the state.
