Celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day throughout the Tri-Town

Libraries across the Tri-Town are celebrating National Take Your Child to the Library Day with crafts, scavenger hunts, giveaways and more on Saturday, Feb. 3.

In Rochester, visit Plumb Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to learn about a February bookmark design event and the library’s kids book groups. There will be a seek and find, clay owl kits from a program with the New Bedford Art Museum and a free snack presented by the Jr. Friends, the library’s youth group. Also see “Mr. Vinny, the Bubble Guy” from noon to 1 p.m.

Visit the children’s room at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to receive a complimentary book, create special crafts, do a scavenger hunt and enter a raffle. No registration required.

Elizabeth Taber Library in Marion will have a children’s book giveaway until 12 p.m. and open exploration and play with items from the “Library of Things” collection, like board games, toys, instruments and 3D pens. In addition, there will be giveaways and crafts to celebrate the start of Black History Month.
